      文章回顾了“公众理解科学”概念进入中国15年以来引发的讨论和开展科学素养调查的情况。作者探讨了科学素养概念形成的不同社会形态和不同国家对科学素养关注点的差异。文章对调查指标进行了重新审视并提出了建立适合中国社会形态的指标体系和调查方法,同时,提出了定性和定量相结合的研究方法以及调查中需要改革的思路。建议通过1至2年的努力建立既能够进行国家横向比较,同时能够进行国内发展趋势的纵向比较的观点和方法。
英文摘要:
      The paper recalls the introduction of the idea of public understanding of science to China in 1990s and the different opinions about the suitability of the model in the particular social situation of China.In also explores the conceptualization of public scientific literacy and the 5 studies of the Chinese Public's Scientific Literacy commenced from the beginning of l990s with modified version of the questionnaire constructed by Jon Miller and,the author suggests a reform plan with the idea of reconstructing a new questionnaire based on fully probe studies beforehand and conducting both quantitative and qualitative surveys according to complexity of Chinese society.
